We are now offering facility rentals at the Library of Virginia. Please be advised that all pricing is a quote. Following a room request, you will be contacted by Library of Virginia staff with the final invoice.
The Library of Virginia is pleased to offer rental spaces for non-library organizations, including state government agencies, at competitive rates. The rental fees are essential for supporting the staffing, technology and maintenance needs of these spaces. In order to ensure that we can continue to provide well-maintained, high-quality spaces for all, we are unable to waive rental fees for any organization.

Available Spaces
Computer Classroom
The Computer Classroom is located on the first floor of the Library and accessed via an ADA-compliant ramp. This classroom features an instructor station with desk, Lenovo Desktop computer, printer, and chair. It also includes the following equipment: 16 Lenovo Desktop workstations, 24 chairs, 86.5" NEC TV/Monitor, Coat Rack, Cisco Telephone, 4 Crestron Speakers, 2 built-in microphones, 1 Camera, 1 white board. The computer workstations are spaced along four rows, allowing additional laptop users to fit in between, if needed. Power outlets are located in the floor.

Conference Room A
Conference Room A is located on the first floor of the Library. It includes the following equipment: 12x7-Video Wall, 2-Cameras, 5 Crestron Speakers, US Flag, VA State Flag, 46'' Wood Podium, 1- Computer Cart. Handheld and lavalier microphones are available for this space.
For larger meetings or programs, add Conference Room B to reservations for Conference Room A or C; the partition wall can be removed to create a larger space. Conference Rooms A, B, and C can be opened to create one large meeting room.

Conference Room B
Conference Room B is located on the first floor of the Library and can host smaller meetings or seminars. Includes the following equipment: 2- 72'' Samsung TV Video/Display Wall, 5 Crestron Speakers. Handheld and lavalier microphones are available for this space.
For larger meetings or programs, add Conference Room B to reservations for Conference Room A or C; the partition wall can be removed to create a larger space. Conference Rooms A, B, and C can be opened to create one large meeting room.

Conference Room C

Lecture Hall
The Lecture Hall is a great space for guest speakers, panels, or even a film screening. It is located on the first floor of the Library and includes the following equipment: 17x10-Draper/Telvision Projector Screen, 1 Panasonic Projector, 3.10'' Wood Podium with VA State Seal on the front with a built-in microphone, 2-Cameras, HP Desktop computer, Blue-ray, US Flag, VA State Flag. Handheld and lavalier microphones are available for this space. No food or drink are allowed in the Lecture Hall.

Lobby
The Lobby is located on the first floor of the Library, just inside the glass entryway doors. It offers a large open space that can accommodate many different events and arrangements. Great for formal dinners or cocktail hour, with this space we can really get creative.

Orientation Room
The Orientation Room is located on the first floor of the Library and suitable for smaller meetings and presentations. Includes the following equipment: 1-86.5'' NEC TV/Monitor, 1-Windows Thinkpad Laptop, 1-46'' wood panel with built in microphone, 1-Camera, 5 Crestron Speakers.

Prefunction Hall
The Prefunction Hall is located on the first floor of the Library and provides easy access to the Conference Rooms, Orientation Room, and Lecture Hall. It can be an ideal spot for check-in tables or refreshments during an event.

Facilities Rental FAQ
Can I take a tour of your event spaces?
Yes, The Library of Virginia offers tours of event spaces Monday-Friday from 10:00am-3:30pm. Please reach out to Bilal Muhammad (bilal.muhammad@lva.virginia.gov) to schedule a tour of event spaces.
How much does it cost to rent the event spaces?
Rental fees are subject to the following factors: space, number of attendees, parking, security, A/V needs, and time of the event. Hourly rates are listed for each space. Following a room request, you will be contacted by Library of Virginia staff with the final invoice.
Will I need to make a deposit?
A 25% non-refundable deposit and a signed agreement are required to secure a rental reservation date. The deposit will go towards the total amount balance and will reflect on the final bill.
When is the balance due for my event?
The balance of your rental reservation fee is due Net 30 from the day of the event.
Is catering allowed?
Yes, we have a list of vendors that we can offer who frequently cater events at the Library, but you are not limited to the list that we provide. WHISK café is located in the lobby of the Library of Virginia; their daily menu may suffice for small groups, or you can contact them to arrange catering for groups.
Are you open for events on Saturday?
Yes, please reach out to Bilal Muhammad (bilal.muhammad@lva.virginia.gov) for pricing on Saturdays.
Does the Library of Virginia offer parking?
Yes, there is a parking garage located under the Library of Virginia, with entrances on 8th and 9th streets. The parking lot has a first-come-first-served policy during business hours (8:30 AM-5:00 PM), with fifty-seven parking spaces available. For evening events, we have over 100 parking spaces but an after-hours fee will be included.
Can we use the patio during the event for lunch?
The patio is open for public use; you are welcome to use the patio for lunch during your event.
